Anastasia Potapova defeated Venus Williams 6-3, 6-3 — Washington Open 2026 R32.
Anastasia Potapova and Venus Williams: Anastasia Potapova leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
The second serve split them. Anastasia Potapova won 15 of 22 points behind hers (68%) while Venus Williams salvaged just 7 of 29, a hole the wild card's 75% first-serve clip couldn't offset. Twenty-six minutes of court time ended the WTA No. 28's three-match slide — a first win since June 10 — and moved her into the Washington Open round of 16.
