Mirra Andreeva and Leylah Fernandez are level at 2–2 across 4 recorded meetings.
Leylah Fernandez beat Mirra Andreeva 6-2, 7-5 in the Singapore Tennis Open quarterfinals, ending the top seed's run at the hard-court WTA 250. Andreeva, WTA No. 5, had been a 74 percent favorite with the betting market; Fernandez came in ranked WTA No. 31 and seeded sixth. Nine of the 20 games went against serve. Andreeva held four of her ten service games and won half the points behind her first serve, while Fernandez won 68 percent behind hers. Three of Fernandez's six breaks came in the opening set, among them game 4 for 3-1 and game 6 for 4-2, on either side of Andreeva's immediate reply in game 5. The second set was closer. Andreeva broke for 2-1, Fernandez answered in game 4 and broke again in game 6 for 4-2, and Andreeva broke back in game 9 to reach 4-5. Fernandez broke once more in game 12 to finish it after 1 hour 32 minutes. Andreeva had won two of their three meetings on record, both on clay; Fernandez's win came at the Canadian Open in August. That record now stands level at two apiece, with both of Fernandez's wins on hard courts. Fernandez has not dropped a set in Singapore and is into the semifinals.
