Naomi Osaka defeated Elisabetta Cocciaretto 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 — Washington Open 2026 Quarterfinal.
Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Naomi Osaka: Naomi Osaka leads 3–0 across 3 recorded meetings.
Accumulated pressure beat clean conversion. Elisabetta Cocciaretto cashed 4 of 6 break points to Naomi Osaka's 5 of 12, but the No. 3 seed forced twice the chances, out-aced her 9 to 1 and took 73 percent of first-serve points to 59. The opener still went Cocciaretto's way. Osaka leveled with a break in game 10 of the second for 6-4, then broke in game 6 of the third for 4-2. The recovery ran 2 hours, 14 minutes in just her second match of the week, after a bye and Ashlyn Krueger's retirement, and made it three wins in three meetings on record against Cocciaretto. Next comes a Washington Open semifinal against No. 29 Alexandra Eala.
