Sorana Cirstea defeated Nikola Bartunkova 7(7)-6(5), 6-3 — Cincinnati Open 2026 R64.
Sorana Cirstea and Nikola Bartunkova: Sorana Cirstea leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
The second set turned on return. Sorana Cirstea took both break points she saw there, in game 7 for 4-3 and again in game 9 for 6-3, after converting one of five in the opener; Bartunkova, held to 8 of 11 service games, drew no chances back. Eight double faults still didn't cost the 15th seed, who saved five of six break points and, in a first win since her Wimbledon run, moves on at the Cincinnati Open.
