Tomas Machac defeated Francisco Cerundolo 7(7)-6(2), 6-3 — Monte-Carlo Masters 2026 R32.
Francisco Cerundolo and Tomas Machac: Tomas Machac leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
World No. 53 Tomas Machac ran his break-point math past the No. 19, converting 4 of 11 chances (36%) to Francisco Cerundolo's 3 of 13 (23%) in a 7-6(2), 6-3 win over the Argentine. The first set was a trade-off — five breaks combined before Machac ran the tiebreak 7-2 — but his serve made the difference, saving 10 of 13 break points and winning 63% of first-serve points. Cerundolo, fresh off ousting Tsitsipas, never solved the return. Machac draws Jannik Sinner next, his second meeting with the Italian this season.
