Cristina Bucsa defeated Panna Udvardy 6-2, 1-6, 7-5 — Cincinnati Open 2026 R128.
Cristina Bucsa and Panna Udvardy: Cristina Bucsa leads 2–0 across 2 recorded meetings.
The decider turned on chances declined. Udvardy held five break points in the third set and converted none, while Bucsa needed only the two she took in the opener, breaking in game 5 for 3-2 and again in game 7 for 5-2. Ten aces to two says Udvardy's serve carried its end; 2-for-9 on return, against Bucsa's 2-for-6, did not. The points ledger closed 81-80. Two hours and three minutes in, the WTA No. 40 ends a five-match losing run dating to May, against an opponent she had no prior meetings with on record.
