Brooksby, ranked ATP No. 77 to Basilashvili's No. 145, had been the betting market's narrow favorite, and the two had no prior meetings on record. Basilashvili broke Brooksby's opening service game and broke again in game 10 to take the first set, then moved ahead in the second with a break in game 3.
