Anna Bondar defeated Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-4 — Madrid Open 2026 R64.
Anna Bondar and Elina Svitolina: Elina Svitolina leads 3–2 across 5 recorded meetings.
World No. 63 Anna Bondar flipped a 56-place ranking gap on No. 7 Elina Svitolina, and the margin lived on the second ball: Bondar won 62% of her second-serve points (15 of 24) to Svitolina's 40% (8 of 20). Svitolina's first serve held up at 80%, but four double faults and a leaky second delivery handed Bondar the openings she needed to break in each set. Bondar struck six aces to two and never faced the level of pressure her own clean serving (zero doubles) avoided. The result snaps Svitolina's 3-2 edge in the rivalry to 3-3.
