Noemi Basiletti and Ajla Tomljanovic: Noemi Basiletti leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Noemi Basiletti, No. 427 in the world, flipped a 339-spot ranking gap on No. 88 Ajla Tomljanovic by punishing the second ball at the Italian Open. Tomljanovic coughed up six double faults and won just 47% behind her first serve, and Basiletti's return did the rest — 53% of first-serve return points won and six breaks from 16 chances. The 27% Basiletti managed on her own second serve never mattered because Tomljanovic couldn't hold serve.
