Nikola Bartunkova defeated Bianca Andreescu 7-5, 6-4 — Canadian Open 2026 R128.
Nikola Bartunkova and Bianca Andreescu: Nikola Bartunkova leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
The first-serve split did the sorting. Nikola Bartunkova took 76 percent of her first-serve points to Bianca Andreescu's 61 and out-aced the WTA No. 174 8-4, cover enough that converting just 3 of 11 break points still carried the day. Andreescu, in on a wild card, cashed her own chances at the sharper rate (2 of 5) but lost the points count 77-68; the first meeting on record between the two ran 1 hour, 51 minutes and sends the No. 41 into the second round in Montreal.
