Hailey Baptiste vs Liudmila Samsonova — R64 — Miami Open

Hailey Baptiste, ranked #45, took down #22 Liudmila Samsonova 6-3 7-5, and the second serve was where it tipped: Baptiste won 49% of her second-serve points to Samsonova's 30%, a 19-point gap that papered over a 46% first-serve rate. Samsonova's nine double faults — against six Baptiste aces — fed the eight-break chaos of a second set Baptiste closed 7-5. That's 3-0 in the H2H, all since February. She would go on to face Elina Svitolina.
