Mirra Andreeva vs Anna Bondar — R16 — Madrid Open

Mirra Andreeva lost the opening-set tiebreak 7-5 and still hadn't cleaned up her serve — 12 double faults to Anna Bondar's zero across the 173 minutes — but she flipped the match by tightening her first-serve return, climbing to 32% of first-return points won and breaking through for the only decisive hold in a 6-3 second set. From there it stayed on serve until a third-set breaker, where Andreeva took it 7-5 to win 52% of total points in this first career meeting on clay.
