Justina Mikulskyte and Paula Badosa: Paula Badosa leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Second seed Paula Badosa opened her SP Open with a straight-sets win over lucky loser Justina Mikulskyte in the round of 32, conceding five games in 74 minutes. It was Badosa's first match since losing to Coco Gauff at the US Open two weeks earlier. Mikulskyte, a 30-year-old Lithuanian at WTA No. 237, broke back in game 3 to close to 1-2 after Badosa had opened a 2-0 lead. That was her only break of the afternoon. Badosa broke again in games 6 and 9 to take the first set, and twice more in the second, in games 3 and 7. Badosa converted four of six break points to Mikulskyte's one of four, and lost serve only that once despite seven double faults.
