The 66th-ranked Parry did her damage from the return end in the third, breaking in game 3 for 2-1 and again in game 5 for 4-1 as Vekic's first-serve points won sank to 40 percent. She had lost their only prior meeting on record, at the 2025 Australian Open; 2h 16m later she owns the first win of the series and a place in the Monterrey last 16.
