Her first-serve points won collapsed after the opening set, from 82 percent to 41 in the second. Parry, the 23-year-old one-hander at WTA No. 64, took 48 percent of her first-serve return points to the Belgian's 31. The third-set break landed in game 6 for 4-2, and the Frenchwoman finished on another break in game 8, Mertens having saved two match points, 2 hours 16 minutes in. It is her third win over a top-25 opponent this season, after Amanda Anisimova in Paris and Clara Tauson in Berlin.
