Holger Rune is the most accomplished Danish man in tennis history — a former junior world No. 1 who took the 2019 Roland-Garros boys' title before turning professional in 2020. He grew up at Patrick Mouratoglou's academy outside Nice, where he relocated as a teenager, and broke into the top 100 in 2022. Months later he won his maiden ATP title at the Bavarian International in Munich, the opening salvo of a rookie season that vaulted him from the fringes of the rankings into the top 10 inside a year.
