Andrey Rublev and Roman Safiullin: Roman Safiullin leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Ranked 114 spots below his opponent at WTA — correction, ATP No. 127 to Andrey Rublev's No. 13, Roman Safiullin flipped this opener on the chances that mattered: he converted 3 of 13 break points to Rublev's 2 of 6, and took the deciding tiebreak 14-12 after four hours on grass. Safiullin absorbed 22 aces and Rublev's perfect first-serve clip but answered with 82% on his own first serve, breaking in game 9 of the fourth to force a fifth. Rublev, who hadn't won since the French Open fourth round, broke twice in a 6-3 third but couldn't convert his last break-point look in the decider. First meeting, first time on grass — and the qualifier walks at Wimbledon.
