Rafael Jodar defeated Alex Michelsen 7(7)-6(2), 6(5)-7(7), 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 — French Open 2026 R32.
Alex Michelsen and Rafael Jodar: Rafael Jodar leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Rafael Jodar won a two-tiebreak slugfest that turned into a five-set war, recovering after Alex Michelsen leveled in the second-set breaker and grabbed the third 6-4. From two-sets-to-one down, Jodar took the last two 6-3, 6-3, his cleaner ball-striking finally separating them — 71 winners to 51, and 36% of return points won off Michelsen's first serve versus 29% the other way. The 11 double faults didn't sink him because the upside held: 13 aces and 71% on first-serve points. First meeting, first on clay, and Jodar takes the early H2H lead 1-0.
