Fourth-seeded Medvedev is out of the Cincinnati Open after 10 double faults, six of them in the only set he won. The second serve is where the market's 56 percent favorite came apart: he won 45 percent of those points to Nakashima's 58, and just 46 percent of his first-serve points in the third. Nakashima had to save three match points to get that far, held 14 of 15 service games, then broke in game 4 for 3-1 to pull the last set away. Two hours and 50 minutes later the 27th seed has his first win in four meetings on record against the No. 6, seven months after the Brisbane final went the other way.
